Dundalk-based nutrition company Phytaphix launches at DkIT

After starting trading amid the global COVID19 pandemic in November 2020, Dundalk-based nutrition company Phytaphix was finally able to launch in person this weekend.

The official launch took place at Dundalk Institute of Technology on Saturday August 27, where Phytaphix is based. Despite the sunny weather, the event was well attended by locals as well as committed Phytaphix fans from Dublin and as far away as Galway.

Phytaphix is a multi-award winning nutrition company based on the research and expertise of Dr. Conor Kerley. Dr Kerley, originally from Dundalk, went to De La Salle Primary School and St. Mary’s Secondary School. He says: “The ambition has always been to have a physical launch at Dundalk but COVID-19 has prevented that…until now. Instead, Phytaphix launched online and went on to win numerous prestigious awards, including the 2021 Global Food Innovation Award!

Phytaphix currently has 2 products on the market:

  • Immune Phix – a potent yet delicious immune and energy powder with Irish mushroom, vitamin D, matcha green tea plus elderberry, rosehip and more.
  • COVMPAQ – a patent pending capsule for inflammation and immunity based on over 50 research studies. COVMPAQ contains curcuminoids, ashwagandha, quercetin and much more.

In addition, Phytaphix launches a brand new, unique product in the world to increase energy and reduce fatigue. This new product is based on feedback from Phytaphix customers.

For Dr. Kerley, who is a multi-award-winning nutrition expert, the development of science-based nutritional products is close to his heart. He became interested in how food affects the proper functioning of our body, since he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) at the age of 15 (and later also allergic asthma) .

At the time, Conor was training at a high level in basketball but had to put his professional sports dreams on hold to focus on his health. He found he was able to control his MS symptoms through a healthy lifestyle, including a whole plant-based diet.

Following his diagnosis, Dr. Kerley completed his education, studied human nutrition and dietetics at Trinity College, then completed his doctorate at University College Dublin Medical School. He worked at universities and medical centers in Dublin and America before lecturing in several areas including food innovation.

During his research, Dr. Kerley learned that most nutritional products on the market had no scientific evidence to back up their claims and set about creating Phytaphix.

“We are proud that Immune Phix is manufactured and packaged here in Ireland. I am a strong supporter of Irish enterprise, our offices are based in my home town of Dundalk and we are supported by the Louth Local Enterprise Office,” said Dr Kerley.

To celebrate their launch, Phytaphix is running a special offer. Buy two Phytaphix products and get a third one 100% free! Just use the code: launch
